Tahitian Pearl Jewellery With Kiwiana Motifs

Our Spirited collection is inspired by the resilience and perseverance of the women that wear Shahana Jewels Tahitian pearl jewellery.

 As an NZ jewellery designer, I wanted to create a truly unique and statement Kiwiana collection for the longest time, but the timing had to be right. Together we have overcome so much, especially in 2020.

I know that your family might be in a process of rebuilding right now, and I wanted this collection to celebrate you for being the glue that keeps it all together. It's a time of new beginnings and believing in yourself like never before and I chose each Maori symbol to motivate you. In this season,  it's so important to hold onto the values that carried you through uncertain times, values you have always lived by but pushed aside when life got busy, or when things were going well. We're all guilty of doing this...so don't be hard on yourself.  

This collection represents getting back to what is truly important... like being able to rely on your family when you need something and finally believing in yourself enough to start that business that you've been putting off. It represents taking the time to re-access your life, your career and relationships...and doing the things that scare you. 

Wherever you are on your journey, the Spirit Collection contains a story and jewellery piece just for you. Whether you find yourself afraid, or uncertain, or excited about tomorrow, these pieces carry messages of hope and the true Spirit of the Shahana Woman.  

We chose the following Kiwiana motifs for their meaning and symbolism:

Unaunahi: Prosperity, abundance and health.

Taratarekae: Sensitivity and strength.

Ahu ahu mataroa: Talent and achievement or a fresh challenge.
