Fashion: Going mad for metallics
Add some sparkle to your wardrobe for an ab-fab festive season.
So the Silly season is on us and, without doubt, you'll need to be getting your Ab Fab on more than once over the next few weeks. The trick about embracing that festive spirit is to wear colour, sparkles and metallics but to do so without looking like a Christmas tree.
“Growing up in Fiji, the women in my family loved jewellery. In fact, my mother began buying me jewellery from the time I was five years old, and believed wearing diamonds or gold bangles on a daily basis was important.
I remember tearing jewellery apart, changing everything around and putting it together again. So it’s no surprise I’ve become a jewellery designer, designing and manufacturing my own range of pearl jewellery for Shahana Pearls.
"The popularity of pearls is on the rise. In fact, they haven't been this popular since your i nana donned her two-strand beauties. Creative director of Shahana pearls, Auckland- based Shahana Kimiangatau, appreciates the femininity and luxury of pearls. Her pearls are sourced from one of the most remote places on earth, Manihiki in the Cook Islands. Only 198 people live there and the cost of a flight is about the same as a world trip. A 10-seater plane only flies in once every two weeks.
