A Web/Graphic Designer 


POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a web/graphic designer for our Jewellery brand. We don't need you to be an Internet marketing expert yourself. But we do need you to have a good understanding of how online marketing works, web design (specifically Shopify), lead magnets, opt-in pages, sales pages, email marketing processes, Facebook marketing, branding etc. (If any of those phrases are brand new to you, this likely is not the perfect position for you). We need you to make sure that our brand stays consistent and reliable, from start to finish, with each project we put out.

✓ Is not locked into just working 9-5 but embraces a "until it gets done" attitude.

  People who have a lot going on already and don't have the time and focus to really dive in and commit to getting the work done.

✗ Those who prefer to be front-facing in the business.

✗ Someone who doesn’t like being given direction and finds it challenging to follow instructions. We ARE seeking a creative thinker and your input will be valuable.

✗ People who don’t enjoy working in a fast paced changing environment and occasionally working on multiple projects at a time.

✗ Negative people.

✗ You aren’t available to do the work yourself and can’t attend video conference calls.

✗ You don’t have a good, strong internet connection.





TIME COMMITMENT


5 hours a week to start. 

Potential for more hours after a 3 month trial.

Pay Rate:  $30 p/h

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


✓  Be very familiar with shopify, problem solving etc.
✓  Use your technical and non technical skills to create a beautiful website, landing pages, lead magnets, sales pages, email marketing processes, opt-in pages while making sure the brand stays consistent and reliable, from start to finish, with each project we put out.
✓  Works closely with content writers and SEO experts when required.
✓  Install appropriate features/apps.
✓  Test everything before going live.
✓  Enhance product offering so that we engage more with customers.
✓  Design weekly blogs and newsletters, invoices. 
✓  Create and change banners on website and social media platforms.
✓  Design digital marketing materials. 
✓  Be very familiar with Mailchimp.
✓  Help with sourcing materials online for campaigns ie jewellery boxes, themed accessories for promotions.
✓  Design catalogues, brochures and linesheets.
✓  Effectively collaborates with design and stays on the same page. Maintains a high level of mutual respect with Designer/owner. ✓  Realizes the unique contributions and ideas that the designer has, and possesses the ability to filter and translate those ideas through marketing material.
✓  Resolves issues effectively—seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a practical and healthy manner. Ensures the leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesive.
✓  Feels comfortable wearing many hats, pivoting when necessary, working with a highly creative team and switching gears quickly.

And while improving her confidence and outlook on life starts with a gorgeous pearl strand, ring or bracelet, our brand’s core focus is sharing a message of self-love and empowerment so women can show up in the world feeling beautiful, supported, and capable of anything they imagine for themselves, their families and their communities. 


Through her purchases, the Shahana woman also helps us further our vision to see a financially inclusive world where women from all backgrounds have an opportunity to improve their lives.





MEET SHA

Hey there, Im Sha! When I set out to create Shahana Jewels then Shahana Pearls), I envisioned a brand that skipped the fake, superficial stuff that is often connected with the fashion and jewellery industries. I wanted our brand to be real, just like our pearls, and the women I could see wearing them. 


I wanted women to have a safe space where they could enjoy sparkly things without comparing their lives, their looks to the next person. I wanted to sell our gems without making women feel like they were just another number on our bank statement. I dreamed of connecting women who wanted to look fabulous, and make an impact in the world, because let’s face it, there’s more to life than pretty things! 


And so, with a penchant for late nights, and the odd bit of Googling, I created an authentic brand that tells it like it is. From our social media posts, to our one on one conversations with our customers, and the bright colour of our delivery bags, Shahana Jewels is raw, exciting and refreshing. We’ve created an aesthetic that is inclusive, celebratory and empowering for all women - inside and out. 


Because we choose not to pretend, we’ve been able to create a truly organic experience for a strong tribe of women all over the world who share and understand our story, and values, because it is their own.
